Planes and things...

Not all things are created equal - that is definitely true of airlines.

It is amazing at home QANTAS has a bad reputation for service, etc. (although I only ever had 1 bad experience in Adelaide) and British Airways has a good reputation. After flying them both on the same day - I would go QANTAS everytime and hope never to have to book another BA fight again. Have to go with them on they way home, guess it is their last chance to impress.

QANTAS had movies on demand in economy, a new, clean plane. At first I wondered if the staff would be ok but they warmed up on the flight and it was great. Food good, service good, comfortable, clean and entertaining.

BA had an old plane, excellent service on the international leg, completely rude everywhere else. Movies played on a mysterious schedule where you had to be lucky to catch the beginning (and this was in Business!) - their airbed things are awfully uncomfortable, their instructions for transfers, etc. were completely useless, wandered around with about 12 other people in Tokyo who were also lost (Even the ground staff couldn't understand the maps BA had prvided). Eventually we all ended up inthe same location but kept passing each other in the corridors as we were trying to find it LOL. Not to mention their planes left late (both times with no announcements or anything), we got stuck on the plane in Heathrow for 30 minutes after we had arrived, then for another 30 minutes after take off for Manchester.

Anyway, that is my whinge - ultimately they got me here safely - even if they did lose my luggage (I had decided I wouldn't fly them again before they lost my luggage) but apparently losing luggage is what they are particularly good at these days. Half the luggage was missing off our flight! At least I got 1 bag out of 2 - and they were able to find my bag in London. The poor family before me lost 4 bags out of 4 and they were missing. The kids were upset as they had packed their special teddies etc in the luggage. I really felt for them - hope it turned up.

Anyway, enough from me - I'm going shopping! Catch you soon.
Love and Hugs,
Chel

I blink for a sec and you have all these posts to catch up on.

What is it with customer service???? Do these people forget why they have a job. Hey, I know that is the freight in the planes belly that makes the company the real dosh but they don't need flight attendants for freight. So any flight attendant reading this - pull up your socks!

I read about BA having the worst stats, worldwide, for losing luggage. I hope those kids were reunited with their teddies.

Off to read some more
