Heidelberg, Germany - 29 September & 1 October 2007

On the road from Switzerland to Germany - a wrong turn and we would be in France!Our first sunset in Heidelberg - taken from a window in Klaus's apartment... These 2 statues are on the bridge crossing into the old town of Heidelberg...
Heidelberg is quite a pretty city. The day we arrived was a wine festival and the town was full of people, food and entertainment. The castle's history is interesting, I am sure a quick google search will find some information.

The deer picture at the end of this hall is ornamented with an acutal deer's head!

A trip up the funicular to the top of the hill behind Heidelberg city. Because of the steepness of the incline the carriage is stepped so the passengers can sit upright. The carriage is pulled up the mountain on a cable.
